The Paintsville Lady Tigers captured a second straight 15th Region volleyball championship with a 3-1 victory over Floyd Central in a match at Betsy Layne High School gymnasium Thursday night.
The Lady Tigers dropped the opening set, 25-15, before running off sets of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-10 to win the match.
Megan Taylor was outstanding again, finishing with 43 kills, seven blocks and three serving aces in the win. Lindsey Nelson collected 51 assists and Anna James totaled 15 digs.
Allison Turner led the Lady Jaguars with 11 kills while Alexis Stanley and Hailey Little finished with nine each.
Caley Howard had six serving aces while Alivia Stumbo totaled 15 digs and Kiara Warrens had 10.
Paintsville now advances to the state volleyball tournament at Valley High School where the Lady Tigers will face Southwestern at 8 p.m. on Oct. 26.
