Phelps saw its season come to an end as Belfry scored a 3-2 victory over the Lady Hornets in the 60th District semifinals played at the McCoy Athletic Center on Wednesday night.
Shakara Lester had nine kills and 15 kills in the 13-25, 25-14, 25-22, 22-25 and 17-15 loss.
Kaci Dotson finished with 13kills, one block and 10 digs while LaRanda Francis totaled 14 kills, three blocks and three digs. Hailey Skeens had 16 assists and seven digs while Amelia Casey finished with eight kills and nine blocks. Kara Steven collected 20 assists and five digs.
Belfry advanced to tonight’s championship match against Pike County Central at 6 p.m.

Letcher Central was pushed to the limits by Knott Central but the Lady Cougars were able to earn a hard-fought 3-0 victory in the 53rd District tournament championship match played at June Buchanan on Wednesday night.
Calista Adams had seven kills in the 25-22, 25-19 and 25-22 win. Meggan Smith finished with three kills and four blocks. Madison Mason totaled digs while Rheagan Holbrook had four kills, 14 digs and six serving aces. Jerricka Williams collected13 digs.

Defending 15th Region champion Paintsville will face Martin County in the 57th District championship match at Johnson Central. Action begins at 7 p.m.
The 15th Region tournament field will include Pike Central, Belfry, Paintsville, Martin County, Floyd Central, Pikeville, Betsy Layne and East Ridge next week.
