UPIKE: Women’s bowling now four for four

LOUISVILLE – For the first time since 2016, UPIKE women’s bowling is the winners of four straight tournaments after the Bears took home the Striking Knights Classic title for the third straight year.

UPIKE won once again in dominant fashion, finishing with a 280-pin advantage over No. 6. Savannah College of Art and Design, or SCAD-Savannah.

Eventual individual champion Jessica Wolfe got the tournament off with a bang, rolling a near-perfect 288 in her first game. She would ride that momentum throughout Saturday to win the individual title by 11 pins over Northern Kentucky’s Sydney Renner. Lauren Piotrowski finished third, 36 pins back from Wolfe to also get on the all-tournament team.

Behind Wolfe and Piotrowski’s performances, UPIKE held a 141-pin lead over SCAD-Savannah after Saturday’s action.`

The Bears then rolled through Sunday’s baker games, including back-to-back games of 235 and 236 to clinch the title.

UPIKE’s JV1 team dominated the Junior Varsity division, beating Webber International’s JV team by 383 pins to claim the JV title. Reigning MSC Bowler of the Week Mallory Liversedge, Kailee Evans, Erin Cosner, and Olivia Kolppa all earned junior varsity all-tournament honors.
