UPIKE women stay unbeaten

PIKEVILLE – UPIKE women’s basketball will head into its first road trip of the season undefeated after beating Kentucky Christian 78-45 on Tuesday night.

It wasn’t as much of UPIKE overwhelming KCU in any section of the game, as much as just being better in each segment of the game and building its lead throughout all four quarters.

KCU started the game with a 6-2 lead, but UPIKE then went on a 14-0 run, capped by back to back buckets from Alexis Reed to take a commanding lead heading into the first quarter break.

Reed led the Bears, now 5-0, with 14 points on 6-9 shooting, including hitting both three-point shots she took.

Mia Greatrex and Sierra Feltner both had 10 points each while Theodora Odia was just behind with seven.

Jordan Holt finished with 15 for the Lady Knights, now 0-5.
