The University of Pikeville volleyball team used a strong third set to pull away and sweep Alice Lloyd College in a match played at the UPIKE Gymnasium on Monday night.
Senior hitter Noelani Simpson reached a career milestone with her 1,000th save in the 25-17, 25-21 and 25-6 win. She finished with 17 kills, 15 digs, two blocks and two aces.
Megan Frazier added eight kills and Brittany Reels finished with 16 digs. Leigh Johnson totaled 32 assists.
UPIKE will journey to Portsmouth, Ohio on Wednesday to battle Shawnee State. The Bears are back home on Thursday to face Kentucky State.
