UPIKE men’s soccer rewriting record books

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Multiple UPIKE records got broken or tied on Saturday when the men’s soccer team rewrote the record books by defeating Fisk 4-0.

The win pushed UPIKE’s current win streak to four matches, which breaks the program record for longest winning streak which was set in 2009 and tied again in 2013.

It was also the Bears’ sixth win this season, which ties the program record which was set by the 2009 team that went 6-10-2.

Eric Bernabeu also scored three goals in the match, which helped him extend his own record of five career hat-tricks or better. His third goal of the match was also his 16th of the season, which puts him ahead of the mark set by Cooper Gaypia in 2013 for the most goals in a single season.

Tindur Asbiornsson scored the fourth goal for UPIKE, his fourth of the season. Anibal Navarro and Kaseem Wedderburn combined to earn the shutout in goal.
