STRATFORD, N.J. – UPIKE women’s bowling’s magical season will add another chapter after the Bears finished second in the Stratford ITC Sectional, good enough to qualify for the 16-team national tournament in April.
After 64 Baker games across two days, UPIKE finished with 11,915 total pinfall, 111 pins ahead of the fourth-place qualifying line.
Maryland-Eastern Shore was the only team to defeat the Bears overall, but UPIKE still holds a confidence boost over UMES as they defeated them six of the eight games the two were paired together.
The Bears almost had three qualifiers in the individual round on Friday. Mikayla Cummings finished seventh overall, three pins back from the sixth place qualifying line. Mallory Liversedge (11th) and Lauren Piotrowski (15th) were not far back either.
