UPIKE BASKETBALL: Feltner’s late free throws rescue Bears

University of Pikeville’s women Bears survived a furious comeback from Rio Grande (Ohio) thanks to a pair of game-winning free throws from Sierra Feltner in the final seconds which resulted in a 94-92 win at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Tuesday night.

The Bears, now 5-0, led by 20 points  in the second half of play before the RedStrom (1-1) rallied to pull even at 92 with five seconds remaining.

Feltner finished with 20 points and led four players in double-figure scoring. Kayla Mullins followed with 12 while Brianna Burbridge tossed in 11 and Mary Englert added 10.

UPIKE will return to action this weekend in the MSC/SSAC Challenge in Pulaski, Tenn., facing  Martin Methodist on Friday and Bethel University on Saturday.
