The University of Pikeville will be looking to hire a new baseball coach and head athletic trainer following the resignations of coach Jim Pritt and his wife, athletic trainer Erica Pritt.
UPIKE Athletic Director Kelly Wells said Pritt has taken a position with Union University, an NCAA Division II school.
Jim Pritt led the Bears the past four seasons to an overall record of 103-97. He was Mid-South Conference (MSC) Coach of the Year in 2016.
Erica Pritt has served as head trainer for the past five season and was an assistant the four previous years. Her staff was named MSC Training Staff of the Year this past school year.
Wells praised the couple for their contributions to the university and community.
Assistant Baseball Coach Jake Sokoll has been placed in the interim role as baseball coach and Assistant Athletic Trainer Emily Atkinson was put in the interim role as head athletic trainer.
