NAUGATUCK – Tug Valley put up big first-quarter numbers and rolled to a 56-0 win over Hannan in the season opener played at Bob Brewer Field this past Friday night.
Running back Jonathan Stepp carried 11 times for 133 yards and two touchdown as the Panther built a 48-0 halftime advantage over the Wildcats.
Tanner Kirk added 11 rushes for 73 yards and a second-half touchdown while Dustin Balentine had a pair of rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Tyler Chaffin passed for 93 yards and two scores while rushing for 33 yards.
Tug Valley will journey to Boone County Friday night to face Sherman (0-1) in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
