Top-ranked Mount View downs Tug Valley

NAUGATUCK – Mount View pulled away at the outset of the second half and the top-ranked Class 1A Golden Knights run past Tug Valley, 41-6, at Bob Brewer Field this past Friday night.

Marqus Ray hauled in a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another as Mount View improved to 7-0. Running back Terry Headen rushed for 100 yards and two scores.

Tug Valley’s lone score came on a six-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tyler Chaffin to Blake Dingess.

The Panthers, now 3-4, will host Hurley, Va. (3-5) Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
