South Central Little League all-stars advanced to the state tournament for the first time in history by winning the District 7 title.
The squad defeated Belfry, Prestonsburg, Phelps and East Ridge in pool play and advanced into the final-four, single-elimination tournament. They defeated East Ridge in the semifinals and knocked off Paintsville in the championship game.
South Central, made up of players from John M. Stumbo, Betsy Layne, Allen Central, Allen and Martin, are coached by Chuck Laferty, Darrin Hamilton and Rocky Newsome.
Team members include Cole Laferty, Jacob Newsome, Keaton Brown, Kolten Crum, Ethan Hamilton, Cameron Pente, Dylon Williams, Logan Meade, Grant Jenkins, Boston Hamilton and Carter Parsons.
