SOCCER: Sheldon Clark tops Perry Central

Lawrence County goalkeeper Allyson Moore recorded her fourth straight shutout as the Lady Bulldogs blanked Spring Valley, W.Va., 6-0, in a match played Wednesday.

Kylie Maynard had a pair of goals and assisted on another as Lawrence County improved to 4-0-0. Sarah Lycans scored two goals while Jordan Stepp and Ellie Webb added one each.

Zayla Gramilo had three asssits.

Prestonsburg came up on the short end of a 4-2 decision to Russell.

Elizabeth Burchett and Jillian Kidd scored one goal apiece. Chloe Collins and Makayla Ousley added an assist each.

In boys’ action from Tuesday night, Chapmanville Regional’s Zach Lamb scored a goal in the closing seconds to help the Tigers earn a 3-3 tie with Mingo Central in a match played at Tiger Stadium.

Lamb scored a pair of goals as the Tigers improved to 1-1-0. Xavier Trump put in the game’s first goal for CRHS.

In girls’ action from Tuesday night, Chapmanville Regional scored a 3-0 win over Mingo Central at Tiger Stadium.

Kalee Bowe scored on a corner kick by Hailey Chewning, who added a pair of goals herself. Alexis Becher had an assist.

Logan knocked off Sherman in a road match as Peyton Ilderton scored three goals for the Lady Wildcats. Dani Beverly added two while the final goal came when Madison Mullins’ shot deflected off and Sherman player and went in goal.
