Boyd County’s Oliver Skuaq scored four goals in the battle of unbeatens as the Lions scored on a 7-2 win over Lawrence County in a match played at Cannonsburg Saturday.
Lawrence Count dropped to 6-1-0. The Lions improved to 6-0-0.
Sheldon Clark went on the road to Oneida Baptist Institute and the Cardinals came up on the short end of a 9-3 score.
Jacob Bailey had a pair of goals for the Cardinals, now 0-6-0. Hunter McCoy added one.
Issac Nuquay knocked home three for the Mountaineers.
On Thursday night, Chapmanville Regional scored a 3-1 win over Independence in a match played at Sophia.
Alex Carver scored on a corner kick while Zach Lamb and Xavier Trump added one each as the Tigers moved to 2-3-1.
In girls’ action, Shelby Valley’s Angel Newsome recorded her first shutout this season as the Lady Cats blanked Mingo Central, 5-0, in a match played at Newtown.
Hannah Adkins finished with four goals and Kaitlyn Adkins added one as Valley improved to 3-4-2.
Lawrence County slipped past Boyd County on the road, 2-1.
Hayleah Fletcher and Zayla Granillo had one goal each in the win. The Lady Bulldogs are now 7-1-0.
