PIKEVILLE – Lawrence County and Prestonsburg girls have advanced to Thursday night’s 15th Region tournament championship match following wins Tuesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs, now 18-1-0, shutout Johnson Central, 1-0, while the Lady Blackcats (16-6-1) defeated Belfry, 9-1.
The championship match is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Bob Amos Soccer Complex.
Hayleigh Fletcher scored off an assist by Jordan Stepp for Lawrence County’s only goal.
Goalkeeper Allyson Moore recorded her 13th shutout this season between the pipes.
Elizabeth Burchett knocked home five goals in Prestonsburg’s win. Makayla Slone added two goals and Makayla Ousley had one goal and assisted on two others.
Jillian Kidd finished with four assists.
The boys’ championship match will take place at 7 p.m. tonight at StoneCrest Soccer Complex as Prestonsburg goes up against Johnson Central.
