Prestonsburg’s run for a boys’ state soccer championship came to an end Tuesday night.
Boyd County’s Oliver Skuaq knocked home three goals to lead the Lions to a 5-1 win over the Blackcats in the State-Semi 8 matchup played at Josh Francis Memorial Field.
Phillip Fryer and Dayne Lawson added one goal apiece as Boyd County moved to 16-1-1 while advancing to the Elite Eight.
Prestonsburg’s lone goal came from Matt Burchett. The Blackcats season ends at 17-3-3.
