PAINTSVILLE – Raceland’s Judd Adkins hauled in a 52-yard touchdown pass with under eight minutes to play to lift the Rams to a 14-7 win over bitter-rival Paintsville in the Class 1A regional championship matchup played at Memorial Field this past Friday night.
The Rams, now 11-2, avenged a 6-0 shutout loss to the Tigers, who saw their season end at 10-3.
Raceland took the early 6-0 lead on Ethan Cox’s eight-yard run with 6 minutes, 18 seconds left in the opening period. The kick failed.
Paintsville went on top 7-6 on Seth Williams’ 64-yard run and Seth Trador’s PAT kick with 6:44 left in the second quarter. Williams finished with 153 yards on 15 carries.
Quarterback Jake Hyden rushed for 46 yards and passed for 56 in the loss.
