PLAYOFFS: JC hammers Ashland; Knox next

PAINTSVILLE – Ashland Blazer’s defense had no answer for Johnson Central’s two-headed rushing attack.
Running back’s Joe Jackson and Devin Johnson combined for more than 500 yards on the ground as the Golden Eagles crushed the Tomcats, 50-14, in the Class 4A regional championship game played at Eagle Field this past Friday night.
Johnson Central, now 12-1, can reach its fourth straight state title game if the Golden Eagles knock off Knox Central this coming Friday night at home.
Jackson, who now has over 2,000 rushing this season, finished with 332 yards and five touchdowns while Johnson added 192 yards and one score.
Johnson Central won its 12th straight game and second this season over the Tomcats, who finished 11-2.
