GOODY – Belfry quarterback Avery Browning passed for 102 yards and passed for two scores and ran for another as the Pirates dismantled Floyd Central, 40-8, at CAM Stadium this past Friday night.
Issac Dixon rushed for a score and caught a touchdown pass, both plays were 43 yards.
Ben Bentley’s only carry was a 27-yard touchdown run. Kyle Webb added a late rushing touchdown and Justin Baker caught a 58-yard scoring strike.
The Pirates have now had 11, one-play drives this season.
Floyd Central’s lone score came on a 22-yard pass play from quarterback Caleb Hager to Ethan Smith-Mills.
The Pirates, now 5-1, will face Cabel-Midland (2-3) and the Jaguars (4-3) will host Sheldon Clark (2-7) Friday night. Both games will kick off at 7:30 p.m.
