PIKEVILLE – Belfry running back Isaac Dixon scored on an 80-yard run in the final minute of the opening half to put the Pirates ahead for good en route to a 36-21 win over previously unbeaten Pikeville at Hillard Howard Field this past Friday night.
Dixon finished with 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Belfry improved to 3-1. Ben Bentley added 96 yards
Pikeville running back Zack Roberts totaled 127 yards and two touchdowns as the Panthers fell to 3-1. Quarterback Connor Roberts added 119 yards on the ground and one touchdown. He passed for 135 yards.
Both teams are back in action Friday night as the Pirates travel to Sheldon Clark (2-3) while Pikeville journeys to northern West Virginia for a matchup with Point Pleasant (4-0). Both are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
