The only team standing between Pikeville’s 10-and-under Cal Ripken all-stars and a state championship is South Lexington.
Those two will square off at 7 p.m. tonight at Veterans Park in Lexington.
Pikeville went into this past weekend’s tournament facing Northern Kentucky in its opener. Isaac Duty tossed a no-hitter, throwing just 64 pitches, as Pikeville advanced with a 12-0 win.
Cole Slone followed Duty’s performance with a complete game win as Pikeville closed out pool play with a 12-2 win over Scott County.
Pikeville opened the semi-final round of play with a 4-1 victory over Jessamine County, setting u tonight’s winner-take-all. Seth Hall was the winning pitcher.
