Pike Central’s Thacker earns Player of the Week award

Pike Central running back Issac Thacker rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Hawks to a 49-32 win over Floyd Central this past Friday night at the Hawks Nest.

He carried the football 19 times for an average of better than five yards every time he touched the football. Thacker was a force on defense as well with 11 tackles, including six solo.

Thacker’s efforts have earned him EKB Sports’ Player of the Week honors.

Pikeville quarterback Connor Roberts passed for 339 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers tough road loss at undefeated Point Pleasant.

Letcher Central running back Hunter Campbell had 136 yards and four rushing touchdowns in the Cougars big road win over Perry County Central.

Belfry quarterback Avery Browning passed for 166 yards and two touchdowns and rushed three times for 79 yards and two scores in the Pirates win over Sheldon Clark.

Johnson Central’s Joe Jackson ran 17 times for 137 yards and five touchdowns in the Golden Eagles’ 48-7 win over Boyd County.

Shelby Valley running back Seth Johnson had 202 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries in a win over Betsy Layne. Quarterback Sam Stanley passed for 100 yards and three scores.

Chapmanville Regional quarterback Chase Berry passed for 190 yards and three touchdowns in the Tigers’ win over Scott.

Mingo Central quarterback Daylin Goad passed for 268 yards and two touchdowns in the Miners’ loss at Poca.
