Pikeville High School has announced that Kristy Ward Orem has been named athletic director.
Orem is beginning her third season as girls head basketball coach.
She has been in coaching for 21 years, including 16 at Fleming County and two at Scott County.
She was a walk-on at Eastern Kentucky University.
Orem is excited about the new challenges ahead and looks forward to working closely with the entire athletic department.
