Shelby Valley’s Cody Potter is a workhorse in the off season.
If he isn’t in a local school gymnasium working on his fundamental skills you’ll find him hitting the highway to play basketball all summer long across the country.
He returns this season as one of the top athletes in the Commonwealth, and at or near the top of those players in the 15th region.
Potter has been recognized this week as Mountain Top Sports’ Athlete of the Week.
He averaged better than 22 points per game and 9.6 rebounds, helping the Wildcats to an overall record of 28-6, tops in the region in 2018. Potter helped lead Valley to the All “A” Classic semifinals against eventual champion University Heights.
