The Johnson Central Golden Eagles remained the number one ranked football program in the latest Mountain Top Sports’ Super 7 poll released Tuesday.
Johnson Central, now 3-0, went on the road and beat South Charleston (W.Va.), 59-29.
Pikeville held on to its number two ranking following a hard-fought 12-6 victory over Raceland. It marked the second straight week the game came down to the final minutes to decide the outcome.
Belfry (2-1) has company in the number three position as the Pirates share the spot with the Paintsville Tigers (3-1). Belfry lost at Ohio powerhouse Archbishop Alter by a 14-0 count while the Tigers outscored East Jessamine, 41-35.
The Man Hillbillies maintained the number five spot following the Hillbillies impressive 40-0 victory over Westside. Man has outscored its first three opponents by a 150-15 margin.
Shelby Valley (3-1) claims the number six position after winning big on the road at Knott Central and Martin County (3-1) sets at number seven, tied with Pike County Central (2-1).
Mingo Central (2-1) received votes.
