Justin Lamb is in his 14th season as a member of the UPIKE football program, spending the last 10 on the coaching staff after a Hall of Fame, four-year playing career at wide receiver for the Bears.
Lamb is a graduate of Breathitt County High School. He joined the Pikeville football team in 2005, helping it reach the NAIA national playoffs in his first season. At the time of his graduation in 2009, Lamb held UPIKE career records for receptions and receiving yards.
Lamb joined the coaching staff in 2009 with an emphasis on coaching the wide receivers. Currently he is the co-offensive coordinator, focusing primarily on the passing attack. Under his guidance, the Bears have posted their top-two passing seasons, averaging 276.5 yards through the air in 2011 and 272.5 in 2013.
In 2011, Lamb was also a member of the East Kentucky Drillers Arena League team that made the championship game in the league’s inaugural season.
Lamb earned the highest honor from his alma mater in 2014, being named to the UPIKE Athletics Hall of Fame for his success on the gridiron.
