Now in his 29th season of coaching
(Paintsville, Johnson Central and Lawrence County)
Graduated from East Kentucky University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. He also has a master’s and Rank 1 in Education Administration.
What is your coaching philosophy? “It has always been based on the type of players and talent we have. As s player pressing and running is what I liked to do. As a coach you must adapt with your talent level and strengths of the team.. When we won the region two years ago we played a 2-3 zone and was very effective with that style. I also think developing positive attitudes and being coachable is a big part of my job now. Be positive and let’s practice with purpose and respect each other, let’s put players in position to be successful. We want our kids to be good teammates. I think that leads to good habits in life and in the workforce.”
What is your favorite food? “My favorite food is anything my wife Shana Trimble cooks. She’s a great cook!”
What is your favorite music? “Music is a daily thing in my life. I listen to a lot of different genres. My favorite right now is Tyler Childers. Great kid who graduated from Paintsville. Buy his album.”
Who is your hero? “My hero is and will always be my Dad. He passed away four years ago. He understood what life was about. He got it. I got some work to do to live up to his example.”
