What is your favorite food? “Chicken and dumplings with cornbread.”
What is your favorite music? “Classic Country, especially the outlaws.”
What is your favorite group? “Is probably Alabama.”
What is your coaching philosophy? “I’d say disciplined with an emphasis on defense and controlling tempo. In high school you have to recognize if you have thoroughbreds or plow horses and adjust accordingly because unlike college we play with what we got; at least most of us do.”
Who is your hero? “That’s a hard one for me. The men in my life that influenced me the most was my dad, my middle school coach David Mosley, my high school coach Johnny Martin and my uncles Dale, Marty, Dana and Barry, who stepped up when my dad passed back in 2001. But the man that changed my life was Jesus Christ through his Atoning sacrifice and via the angel he sent me, my sweetheart, “Momma Spurlock.” In these two heroes’ I find joy, hope and peace.”
