Lawrence County’s Tyler Maynard scored three goals and assisted on one other to lead the Bulldogs to a 5-2 win over Paintsville in the high school soccer opener for both teams Monday night at Louisa.

Luke Johnson added a pair of goals and had two assists. Goalkeeper Trent Adkins allowed only two goals.

Belfry, CRHS canceled

Belfry’s season-opening match with Chapmanville Region on Monday night was canceled.

No makeup date has been announced.

Johnson Central goalkeeper Alyssa Pack was solid from start to finish in leading the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 win over East Carter in the season-opening match played Monday night at Grayson.

Kelci Blair scored the first goal on a cross from Konstance McCarty. Haley Lykins added the final goal on a corner kick by Lauren Johnson.

Lawrence County’s Kylie Maynard scored five goals and assisted on three others to power the Lady Bulldogs to a 10-0 win over Paintsville in the season opener for both teams Monday night at Louisa.

Ellie Webb added two goals while Sarah Lycans, Jordan Stepp and Emily Webb added one apiece.

Goalkeeper Allyson Moore scored the shutout.
