PAINTSVILLE – The Johnson Central Golden Eagles used big hits and solid pitching to advance to the 57th District tournament championship with a 10-0 win over Sheldon Clark in a game played Monday.
Winning pitcher Tate Meade and Gabe Ferrell combined to toss a no-hitter as Central improved to 20-13.
Riley Preece had two hits, including a home run, scored and drove in three runs while Hunter McCloud went yard and knocked in a pair of runs. Each doubled as well and scored.
Blake Delong added three hits, including a triple, scored and added a pair of RBI.
Parker Jarrell suffered the loss for Sheldon Clark. The Cardinals finished 19-18.
The Golden Eagles advance to Wednesday’s championship game against the winner of the Magoffin County/Paintsville game set for tonight.
