Johnson Central’s Isaiah May was a key player in the Golden Eagles winning the Dan Swartz tournament championship this past weekend.
May had games of 24, 30 and 19 to push Johnson Central to 10-1 overall.
For his effort, May has been chosen EKB Sports’ Player of the Week, edging out Betsy Layne’s Jordan Frazier.
Frazier had a double-double in all three games for the Bobcats in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic. He had games of 21 points and 10 rebounds; 25 points and 10 rebounds; and 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Belfry’s McKenzie Maynard had a pair of double-doubles (17 points, 15 rebounds and 19 points and 12 rebounds) and added 16 points and eight boards in another game for the Lady Pirates.
Shelby Valley’s Cody Potter had games of 18, 28 and 29 as the Wildcats won two of three games.
Pikeville’s Connor Roberts scored 15, 32 and 16 for the Panthers in games last week.
Paintsville’s Anna Keeton had games of 26 and 23 as the Lady Tigers stayed unbeaten during play in the Kentucky/West Virginia Border Clash.
Lawrence County’s Kensley Fletcher had games of 11, 17, 18 and 31 for the Lady Dawgs.
Shelby Valley’s Alyssa Elswick scored 23 and pulled down 10 rebounds in one game and scored 14 and 18 in two others.
Pikeville’s Kirsten Cole-Williamson a big weekend as Pikeville ran its winning streak to five games. She scored 9, 9 and 14 points and had rebounding games of 12 and 12.
Floyd Central’s Katie Jo Moore had games of 21, 9 and 12 to help lead the Lady Jaguars to the Gateway Holiday Classic championship.
Prestonsburg’s Caroline Ariaz had a pair of double-doubles in two wins at Raceland. She had 11 points and 11 boards in one and 14 points and 11 rebounds in another.
Sheldon Clark’s Madison Thompson scored 17, 8 and 10 and had 14 rebounds, 9 and 10 for the Lady Cardinals for nearly three double-doubles.
Piarist School’s Kyle Price had a pair of double-doubles during the Buckhorn Lake Tournament. He scored 31 and grabbed 18 rebounds and had 12 points and 12 boards in another.
