Johnson Central and Belfry held on to the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the latest weekly EKB Sports’ Super 7 poll released Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles and Pirates face West Virginia powers Capital (0-0) and Huntington (0-0) in home openers this Friday night.
There was no change in the poll among the top four schools at Pikeville (1-o) held the third spot, followed by Paintsville (1-0).
Both opened with huge wins over Covington Holy Cross and Estill County, respectively.
The Panthers will face Lexington Catholic (1-0) Saturday night in the finale of the 34th annual Pike County Bowl at Hambley Athletic Complex.
The Tigers host Harlan (0-1) at Memorial Field Friday.
Floyd Central, a big winner over Harlan in Week 1, comes in fifth. The Jaguars visit Betsy Layne (0-1) Friday.
Rounding out the Super 7 are No. 6 Shelby Valley (1-0) and No. 7 Mingo Central (0-0). The Wildcats face Pike County Central (0-0) Saturday in the Pike County Bowl while the Miners open the season at home against Point Pleasant (0-0).
