STANVILLE – Floyd Central erupted for 31 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 44-6 win over Betsy Layne in a game played at Bobcat Stadium this past Friday night.
Quarterback Caleb Hager passed for 128 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for a third as the Jaguars improved to 2-0.
Running back Josh Whitaker carried nine times for 114 yards and a touchdown. Brady Conn had two rushes for 61 yards and caught two passes for 56 and a touchdown.
Betsy Layne’s only points came on William Dye’s 55-yard fumble return in the final minutes of the game.
Both teams are back in action Friday night. Floyd Central travels to Breathitt County (2-0) and the Bobcats journey to East Carter (2-0).
