Jackson runs wild in Golden Eagles win

PAINTSVILLE – Johnson Central running back Joe Jackson rushed for 291 yards and five touchdowns to power the Golden Eagles to a 51-0 victory over Greenup County at Eagle Field Friday night.

Jackson had TD runs of 72, 48, 93, 3 and 7 yards as the Golden Eagles improved to 6-1.

Bryce Tackett opened the scoring for Johnson Central with a one-yard run in the opening quarter. The Eagles put a 23-0 lead after 12 minutes.

Quarterback Ryley Preece scored on a 24-yard run late in the second period pushed the lead to 37-0 at the break.

The Golden Eagles will play at Rowan County (5-3)  next Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
