HS VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: East Ridge edges Pike Central

East Ridge rallied from a two-set deficit to stun Pike County Central, 3-2, in a match played at the Hawks Nest on Thursday night.

Sarah Tackett had a big match with 26 kills, five blocks and 12 digs in the 21-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-10 and 15-11 comeback win. Hannah Thacker added 10 kills and nine blocks while Hanna Blackburn finished with 14 kills and three blocks.

Lakin Puckett totaled 14 digs and 47 assists while Alexis Little had 29 digs. Haley Parks added seven kills, two blocks and 16 digs while Lilly Rivera collected 13. Emily Lester added 11.

In other regular-season finale matches Thursday:

Betsy Layne blanked Shelby Valley, 3-0 (25-20, 26-24 and 25-17)

Martin County defeated Tug Valley, 2-1 (22-26, 27-25 and  25-9) and St. Joseph Central, 2-0 (25-12 and 27-25).

Paintsville shutout Belfry, 3-0 (25-18, 25-22 and 26-24).

Pikeville’s Kaylee Wells finished with 18 kills and 10 digs to help lead the Lady Panthers to a 3-0 victory over Martin County in a match played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium.

With the 18 kills, Wells became the program’s all-time leader.

Riley Tavis  followed with eight kills, three blocks, five digs, three serving aces and 30 assists in the 25-10, 25-18 and 25-9 match win. Emily Gearheart added 12 digs and five assists while McKinlee Potter totaled four digs and eight serving aces.

Madison Thompson had six kills, three blocks and four digs for the Lady Cardinals. Kristen Isaac finished with two kills, one block, five digs and four aces. Jenna Grayson had seven kills.
