Betsy Layne lost a close opening set to Knott County Central before battling back to earn a 3-1 victory on the road Wednesday night.
Madison Hamilton had seven kills and 17 blocks in the 24-26, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-20 win. Maddi Meade followed with 27 digs while Katie Kidd finished with eight kills and eight blocks.
Lauren Watkins totaled 10 digs and Maddie Duff collected 25 assists. Inetta Hamilton had nine kills, six digs and seven serving aces.

East Ridge went on the road to neighboring Grundy (Va.) and scored a 3-0 victory over the Wave in a match played on Wednesday night.
Sarah Tackett had 15 kills, eight digs and one serving ace in the 25-20, 25-19 and 25-14 match win. Hannah Thacker followed with 11 kills.
Lakin Puckett finished with three kills, one block, 30 assists and five digs while Haley Parks added four kills, six digs and two aces. Hannah Blackburn totaled seven kills.

Letcher Central dominated from the early going and cruised to a 3-0 victory over Jenkins in a match played at the LCCHS Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
Rheagan Holbrook had 11 digs while Madison Mason finished with eight kills, five digs and four serving aces in the 25-9, 25-16 and 25-4 match win.
Summer Madden, Makaylee Branham, Laura Colosi, Kyann Williams and Autumn Wampler added six digs each.
