The dead period for all sports and sports-related activities on the high school and middle school levels in Kentucky begin at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
Coaches, principals, athletic directors and superintendents are reminded there is no use of school facilities, uniforms, equipment, transportation, or anything related to the athletic program through midnight July 9.
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) reminds officials no school funds may be expended in support of interscholastic athletics in any sanctioned sport during the two-week period.
Coaches or school administrators cannot communicate with players in any form, including email, social media, texting, phone and all other forms.
The KHSAA encourages all those involved in athletic programs across the state to use this time period to recharge, repair facilities and get away from students.
