PAINTSVILLE – Pikeville pushed across three runs in the top of the first inning and went on to beat Johnson Central, 5-3, in a 15th Region showdown played April 9.
Randi Delong had a pair of singles and drove in three runs as the Lady Panthers improved to 12-4 and won their fifth straight game.
Emily Ford went the distance, striking out 14 batters. Ford had two hits of her own.
Kelcie Adams added two hits, including a triple, knocked home two runs and scored while Olivia Whitfield singled and batted in one run. Hannah Akers singled and scored.
Losing pitcher Alyssa Hedrick tripled, singled, drove in one run and scored for the Golden Eagles, who fell to 6-7. Alaina Castle had two hits, one a double, and scored twice.
Abby Fannin added an RBI single.

Kaylyn Stafford doubled in Breanna Tello who reached on an infield single to open the scoring. Natalie Fite followed with a short base hit into right field. Stafford scored on a throwing error. Fite and Emily Deaton later scored.
Kailee Rash tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout. She struck out eight as Belfry improved to 11-1 and won their eighth straight game.

Kayte Morgan belted a solo home run, singled and scored a pair of runs. Grace McDougal singled three times and batted in two runs while scoring once.
