HS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Paintsville girls blank Pikeville; P’burg rolls on

Paintsville’s Hope Auxier had five saves and record her fourth shutout in five matches this season as the Lady Tigers defeated Pikeville, 6-0, at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Michaela Nieminen had two goals and assisted on three others as the Lady Tigers moved to 4-1-0. Camryn Helton added a pair of goals and two assists while Chloe Fleming scored two goals.

Prestonsburg was dominant in its road match against Martin County as the Lady Blackcats cruised to a 10-0 in a match played at The Rock on Tuesday night.

Anna Burchett finished with four goals as Prestonsburg improved to 6-0-0 and scored its sixth consecutive shutout win behind goalkeeper Chelsea Reynolds.

Annabelle Trusty had three goals and assisted on one while Chloe Collins, Kadynce Hackworth and Shelby Blackburn added one goal each.

Makayla Ousley finished with four assists.

Martin County goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher had 10 saves as the Lady Cardinals dropped to 2-4-0.

Lawrence County was solid from start to finish as the Lady Bulldogs knocked off Russell, 3-1, in a match played at the Dawg House on Tuesday night.

Ellie Webb, Jasmine Justice and Sarah Lycans each scored one goal apiece as Lawrence County improved to 3-2-0.

Goalkeepr Allyson Moore totaled 12 saves while allowing just a single goal.

Belfry didn’t allow Mingo Central a single shot on goal as the Lady Pirates blanked the Lady Miners, 3-0, in a match played at Buck Harless Stadium on Tuesday night.

Kylie Gollihue scored a pair of unassisted goals while Marki Maynard added one as Belfry improved to 3-2-1.

Mingo Central goalkeeper Destiny Blackburn had nine saves in the Lady Miners season opener.

Spring Valley, WV…2

Johnson Central’s Lauren Johnson scored three goals, including two on penalty kicks, to lead the Lady Eagles to a 4-2 road win over Spring Valley (W.Va.) in a match played Tuesday night.

Madison Hicks added one goal as Johnson Central moved to 4-0-2. Lexie Scarberry had an assist.

Goalkeeper Chloe Dyer allowed just two goals.

Prestonsburg goalkeeper Jacob Martin recorded his fifth shutout as the Blackcats blanked host Martin County, 3-0, in a match played at the Rock on Tuesday night.

Dylan Moore, Grant Justice and Isaiah Collins  had one goal each as Prestonsburg moved to 5-1-0.

Perry Central took control early on and rolled to a 10-0 home win over Pikeville in a match played Tuesday night.

It was the season opener for Pikeville, which did not field a team one year ago.

Jackson Morgan had two goals and five assists for the Commodores.

Spring Valley, W.Va..2

Johnson Central held on late to slip past Spring Valley (W.Va.), 3-2, in a match played Tuesday night.

Jake Headly had a pair of goals and Ryan Finney had one goal and one assist as the Golden Eagles moved to 1-2-1.

No matches are scheduled for tonight. Teams will return to action on Thursday.
