Martin County goalkeeper Ethan Frey had five saves and allowed a single goal as the Cardinals defeated Paintsville, 3-1, in the 15th Region All “A” Classic semifinals played at The Rock on Thursday night.
The Cardinals, now 4-2-0, will face Prestonsburg in the championship match Saturday.
Reece Merrill, Jestin Barker and Nathan Frey had one goal apiece. Merrill assisted on two goals.

Paintsville’s Michaela Nieminen knocked in four goals and assisted on one other as the Lady Tigers blanked Powell County, 5-0, in a match played Thursday night.
Camryn Helton added one goal and one assist as Paintsville improved to 6-2-0. Ava Hyden and Katie Hammonds finished with one assist each.
Goalkeeper Hope Auxier had four saves in the shutout win.
