HS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Bulldogs edge West Carter; LCC girls top Middlesboro

Lawrence County went on the road to Olive Hill and the Bulldogs earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over host West Carter in action Tuesday night.

Tyler Maynard had one goal and assisted on one other as the Bulldogs moved to 6-4-1. Trevor Brooks scored one goal and S.J. Lycans had an assist.

Goalkeeper Trenton Adkins had six saves in the win.

Letcher Central fell behind early to Jackson City and the Cougars came up on the short end of a 4-1 score on Tuesday night.

Slayden Sizemore had three goals and one assist in the win for the Tigers.

Shelby Valley….1

Pikeville and Shelby Valley battled back and forth in a match played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Alivia Gearheart scored one goal and assisted on Asheton Godsey’s goal as Pikeville survived 2-1 in double overtime.

Goalkeeper Madison Thacker allowed just a single goal.

Belfry’s late rally against Lawrence County came up short as the Lady Bulldogs escaped with a 4-3 victory in a match played at the Dawg House on Tuesday night.

Autumn Maynard, Brylee Blair, Hayleah Fletcher and Ellie Webb each had one goal apiece in the win as Lawrence County moved to 6-4-0.

Kylie Gollihue scored all three goals for Belfry, which dropped to 6-6-1.  Goalkeeper Kenzie Maynard had 10 saves as the Lady Bulldogs took 16 on goal.

Letcher Central goalkeeper Kassandra Ramirez recorded a shutout as the Lady Cougars defeated Middlesboro, 2-0, in a match on Tuesday night.

Brooke Bates scored both goals for the Lady Cougars.

Johnson Central’s Cloe Walls knocked home five goals to power the Lady Eagles to a 10-4 victory over Martin County in a match played Tuesday night.

Haley Lykins followed with two while Madison Hicks, Lauren Hardin and Geanna Ferguson added one each.
