Longtime East Ridge High School coach Ben Runyon has officially taken over the Warriors football program.
Beginning his fifth season with the football team, he stepped in one year ago mid-season in an interim role to guide the Warriors after head coach Quentin Morgan resigned following a 1-4 start.
Runyon said he was excited about taking over the program and said his team had a lot of work to do before the season begins.
East Ridge will open the season in the Pike County Bowl at Belfry against Phelps on Aug. 30.
