HS FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: P’burg falls at Bath County; Cardinals beaten  

Prestonsburg struggled offensively as host Bath County scored a 19-6 victory in a game played on Friday night.

Blackcat backup quarter Kaleb Jarvis  scored the only points on a short touchdown run as Prestonsburg dropped to 2-7.

Quarterback Brayden Slone’s  only pass completion was a 54-yard reception by Owen Greene.

Gabe Howard, Aaron Watson and Greene each had a fumble recovery in the loss. Jarvis led the defense with eight tackles.

Prestonsburg will close out regular season play at The Rock against Martin County (5-3) on Oct. 25. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

West Carter took charge early on against Martin County and rolled past the Cardinals, 37-6, in a game played on Friday night.

Wide receiver Blake McGlone hauled in six passes for 107 yards and one touchdown and running backs Ethan Jordan and Sam Jones rushed for one each in the win.

The Comets had an interception return for a score and returned a kickoff for another touchdown.

Martin County sophomore Alex Bowen scored the Cardinals lone touchdown.

The Cardinals, now 5-3, will host Prestonsburg (2-7) at The Rock on Oct. 25. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
