HS FOOTBALL: Pirates dominate in road win at Floyd Central

Belfry’s defense limited Floyd Central to just six yards in the opening half as the Pirates built a big halftime lead and went on to score a 41-6 road win over the Jaguars on Friday night.

Running back Ben Bentley had 117 yards and two touchdowns on just four rushing attempts as Belfry moved to 4-2. Peyton Hensley followed with 78 yards and a touchdown while Isaiah Birchfield added 57 yards and two scores on just two carries.

Quarterback Brett Coleman added a rushing touchdown.

Floyd Central, now 2-5, finished with 84 total yards on 39 plays. The Jaguars only points came on running back Gavin Martin’s nine-yard run late in the fourth period.

Belfry is idle this coming week before hosting Lawrence County (3-3) on Oct. 18. Floyd Central travels to Magoffin County (2-4) on Oct. 11. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
