HS FOOTBALL: Miners steamroll to big road win at Logan

Mingo Central pulled away from host Logan in the second period and the Miners went on to score an impressive 52-6 win over the Wildcats at Willis-Nisbet Stadium on Friday night.

Quarterback Daylin Goad passed for 267 yards and three touchdowns and ran 87 yards and added one score as Mingo Central moved to 2-1. Receiver Drew Hatfield caught 14 passes for 127 yards and two scores.

Tanner Cisco rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown and Zach Patrick added 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Mingo Central’s defense forced six Wildcat turnovers. Logan dropped to 0-3.

Both teams are back in action on Sept. 20 as the Miners host unbeaten Sissonville (3-0) in a 7 p.m. kickoff at Buck Harless Stadium while the Wildcats visit Poca (3-0) in a 7:30 p.m. kick.
