HS FOOTBALL Logan feels Poca’s ‘Payne’ in big road loss

The Logan defense had no answer for Poca’s high-power offense.

Running back Ethan Payne rushed 16 times for 274 yards and five touchdowns as the Dots took apart the Wildcats, 68-8, at O.O. White Stadium on Friday night.

Three of his five scores came in the second half on three straight carries.

Logan’s only touchdown came on quarterback Jordan Hayes’ 10-yard run on a fourth down and eight call, making it 14-8.

It was all Dots from that point on.

Logan, now 0-4, will host Winfield (3-1) on Sept. 27. Kickoff at Willis-Nisbet Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m.
