Floyd Central running back Dalton Boyd wanted the football with the game on the line.
Coach Shawn Hager gave it to him.
Boyd scored on a 10-yard run on the first play from scrimmage in overtime and then ran in the two-point conversion to give the Jaguars at 36-34 win over Magoffin County on Friday night.
The outcome came down to Hornet running back Jaylon McDuffus stopped short on the goal line on a potential game-tying two-point conversion.
Boyd finished with 201 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 29 carries as Floyd Central moved to 3-5. Gavin Martin followed with 49 yards on 10 rushes and one score.
Chad Bates led the defense with 12 tackles, and he recovered a fumble.
Floyd Central is idle this coming Friday before traveling to Lawrence County on Oct. 25. Magoffin County, now 2-5, will host Pike County Central (6-1) on Oct. 18. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
