PIKEVILLE – Two upcoming Pikeville High School seniors have got the attention of Ivy League schools when it comes to their talents on the field and in the classroom.
Receivers Jackson Hensley and Seth Pugh have received offers to a number of schools, but none more prestigious than those along the northeastern states.
Hensley, now with five Division I offers, received his second Ivy League invite from Yale University. He earlier was offered by Cornell.
Add to his resume of schools Morehead State University, William and Mary and Florida Tech. Wake Forest and the University of Louisville are two others likely to throw their names into the mix.
Meanwhile, Pugh, who is the youngest of outstanding brothers to excel on the field, announced he has been offered by Dartmouth College. He had prior offers from Morehead State University and both have been offered at Centre College, which has already landed Pikeville’s Conner Roberts and Christian Billiter.
Both just finished competing on the baseball diamond and in the state track and field meet in Lexington.
Those offers are expected to grow throughout the summer and fall months as the Panthers give chase to a fifth state football championship.
