Hazard backup quarterback Nick Garrett passed for one touchdown and ran for another as the Bulldogs bounced back from their district loss to Pikeville to beat Phelps, 43-7, in a game played at Daniel Field on Friday night.
Running back Elijah Gayheart added two rushing scores while Trajon Campbell and Reece Flethcer added one each.
Phelps’ lone points came on a touchdown run by running back Tyrell Hollis. He finished with 79 yards and eight rushes and Dominick Francis followed with 75 yards on 14 carries. Hollis also recovered a fumble.
The Hornets will close out regular season play at home against Tolsia on Nov. 1. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
