HS FOOTBALL: Floyd Central stumbles in opener at Clay County

Floyd Central fell behind early on to Clay County and the Tigers went on to beat the Jaguars, 44-20, in the season opener played on Friday night.

Jaguar quarterback Caleb Hager ran for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 10 carries in the loss. He had TD runs of 72 and 20 yards.

Running back Dalton Boyd rushed 20 times for 96 yards and a score.

Noah Marcum led the defense with 10 tackles, including four solo. Chad Bates finished with nine.

Floyd Central will travel to North Laurel (0-1) on Aug. 30.
